Ahhhh........... I'd bet money thats not a correct statement. I'd also like to hear why it would be rare.

Unfortunately, I don't have the answer to that question, fully. The car was my mom's then it was supposed to go to my younger bro, but I fixed it first. He was the one who found out all the info. And, just by coincidence, I happend to run into a guy who had a 72 Comet. When I told him that mine was a rare model, he finished my scentance with the actual amount. I think it's 465, I love my Comet but I'm no good with numbers. I think it has something to do with the bumbers. Every 74 I've seen has had the "standard". I have seen a few Comet's and or Mavericks that do have that bumper, just different years. My chrome is differently placed as well, and my taillights. I'ts kinda strange, I think I've seen pretty much all the characteristics on other's but just not all together like mine. But I was kinda hoping to find out how rare and why on this website, as well as parts and such. I know it was made in July. White body, almost a pea green interior (took me a while to get used to). As soon as I can get the picture on the computer I'll post it. But even if she isn't that rare, I still love her. Have a good one y'all

Now you really got me wondering... I don't understand what could be diffrent about the bumpers other then bumper gaurds/no bumper gaurds, black plastic molding like mine has or whatever.

    Mo. rust.

Wayne, welcome, in MO. your big problem is going to be rust. Running gear ok, body too?, no engine comment. If the body and running gear are ok, ok, more than ok, i.e. no rust in floors, quarters, frame rails, trunk, doors, fenders, it's a good deal even without a motor. Motors are easy, rust free is gold. 70-72 rust free is platinum. Rust in all the above it's dirt, motor or not.

Jennifer, give up the one in 500 scoop.

I have bumbers like your's, and you know they protrude out further than one's w/out bumber guards.
