If a shifter made you happy, just wait until you drive the thing. You will be ecstatic!! Congrats!!

Lots of details to be dealt with in that swap for sure.

sorry but that 67 fairlaine was pretty much picked over. but because i'm on the subject i might as well ask if a 9" rear on a fairlane will bolt right up to a maverick or not.

I think the Fairlane is much wider - something like 63". And if I remember right that year had coil springs not leaf springs.

well it's been another week and the struggle still goes on. i have it running, sort of. the nuts on my rocker arms keep backing them selves off. so i'm going to throw a little lock tight on there to keep them in place. and i'm have a little probleam with modifying a 200 z-bar and making it work on a 302. i'm almost their but it still isn't that much fun. but she sounds real good. i put strait pipe and two glass packs under her.

I did exactly that many years ago. I dont remember all I did (too many beers & years ago) but I seem to recall having to remove reshape and reweld the lower arm. I know it wasent fun. Good Luck!!

Locktite will probably not last very long. You should throw the nuts away and invest ~$30 in a set of poly locks.

well i had it running and was driving it around when it died and i couldn't get it restarted. something to do with the valves of course. haven't had a chance to get working on it again been too busiy. but hopefully i get the rocker arm issuse worked out. i finally got the z-bar fixed. it only took me welding on another inch of metal or so.
