I sold my two-tone '73 today. Ray Moore, currently in Kuwait, bought the Maverick through this forum. His two brothers-in-law met me at the big Swap Meet in Moultrie , GA today. I now have one less in fold. Earl went with me today and we didn't find anything worth bringing home. We did see one gorgeous 63 1/2 Galaxie Pro Street car for sale. Well, we thought is was gorgeous until we saw the big block Chevy under the hood.
'Glad the deal went through - for both of ya's. I keep waiting for a good deal like that one closer to me.
Whenever I see a Chevy motor under the hood of a Ford, I just walk away. Got no interest in such an abortion and do not want to risk giving the owner the satisfaction that I admire his junk. On the other hand, I did see a Camaro in an issue of "Fastest Street Car" that had a BBF in it. That was an interesting turning of the tables.
Glad to see the deal went smooth Terry. I sold a 1987 Honda Spree moped I've had for about 8 years today. It had 7,500 miles on the second engine. Thats alot of miles on a 50cc moped. 1,000 miles on a Honda Spree is like 100,000 on a car. Most of them are dead by 3,000. This one had rolled over 9,999 once and was up to 7,500 again. I hope my friend takes good care of it.
bad chevy heads . a modded FE stroker would eat that chevy for breakfast. congrats to both parties on the mav purchase.
Kewl!!, I also walk away from chevy engines in Fords. Or if the owner is nearby, I make a statement loud enoug so he can hear it. Something like, "what a waste"
I did a raspberry with the owner sitting behind the car. PPPPPLLLLLLLLLLLLLLTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTT!!!!!!!!!!
Congrats on the sale Terry, I saw that you said you are going to use the money you got out of it on Sarah's Maverick, what are you going to do to it?
Get it painted. All the dings, dents, scratches, etc., removed and painted. I have a surprise for the rear of the car to show off once it is painted.
Both of you can be cemented and lost in Lake Lanier very easily. You do know it is 500 ft. deep at the damn, don't you? I have friends in Chicago, New York, Detroit, Miami, and Hahira, GA and I'm not afraid to call them.:evilsmile
It is going to be painted a very deep burgandy color. I don't the know the name, but it is one of the colors being used on the 2006 Taurus. Sarah saw it when she did a tour of the Ford Plant. The guy who is going to paint her car works at the plant and his job is to make any ding, dent, or scratch look like it never happened. Sarah described it as a candy apple that looked it had been dunked about a dozen times.
