Congrats Jamie.(y) It's always good to see another Maverick saved from neglect. It looks like a great car to fix back up.

I need one of those seatbelt lights for mine. The dash just has a hole in it where one should go :(

Scott, even worse is that I was telling my gf about the red car not a minute before I had the crash! I even told her I probably won't be driving the black car much after christmas. Then we stop to make the turn and BAM! :90:

Car crashes are a scary thing...I had dreams of my brakes not working and hitting someone in the rearend for about 18 months before...I hit someone in the rear because only one brake worked and I slid into a PINTO with my 71 VW bug. Never had that dream again. But, I totalled the Pinto AND the Bug (my project car at the time). This was not back in the "olden times" but when I was in college around 1992. Both cars were classics (sorta).

Jamie, I just hope you and your friend are OK...after a couple of hours, after the adrenaline wears off, you will be very sore. Be sure to take care of yourself, have the docs look at anything that might be injured. The car is replaceble, even if you have to part it out and use it on another car. I still get sore almost 15 years later from my accident. So get things checked out if you feel any pain.

I may sound like an old fart preaching, but I am just out of college by 6 or 7 years, and still consider myself a "kid". In fact, I am enjoying my "kid-hood" better now, since I have a little money to spend, which I didn't have growing up in the trailer parks back in high school.

My point is...take care of yourself now, another car will come along when you are back on your feet. I don't really believe in fate, but then I look at my history of cars and women, and I recognize that I eventually found my wife and my Mav, and things have turned out GREAT despite all the "wrong turns" I have made.

Scott, I can't tell you how many dreams I have had of wrecking the Mav in the past few months. In my dream, I was always getting hit in the rear though. Every time though I woke up and realized the Mav was perfectly fine and ready to go cruise. Right now, it's just like living a bad dream. I'll go to the doctor and get checked out tomarrow. My ankle and neck is kind of starting to hurt now.

I was just out takeing a good look at everything and I noticed that the passenger side door has a big dent on the inside just below the window where my girlfriend got thrown into it. She must have really hit that door hard. She says shes ok though and her mom took her on to school today.

when my wife totalled the 4 door she hit the passenger side window with her face and cut her eye open. you should have seen the nasty looks i got the next month whenever we went somewhere "that poor girl with the bruised eyes and face, her husband must have beaten her" definately make sure you and your friend see a doctor several times over the next few weeks, its the critical point for long term pains to be prevented.
