rust under the windshield

    guys How do I fix the rust holes under the front vents by the wipers. Do I have to remove the windshield.:huh:

    Not sure exactally where your talking about. If they are under the cowl, then you will have to remove the windshield and drill out a ton of spot welds to remove the cowl.

    yes the cowl i heard some people cut a hole on the side, but seems like short cut

    Well only 2 pics were mine, the second one down and the all primed one. My cowl turned out to be ok, all the cornors of the windshield were rotted out. You can see part of the repairs being made in the first picture of mine.

    hi ,if it's the samething as mine ,i did'nt cut any thing i just took off the inside vent and i weared rubber gloves ,i took some plastic ciment for roof repair with my hands i did pass by the vent and put that ciment all the way aroud both vent, and stop the leak ,that way it took me about an hour to do the job. bye good luck!!!

    thanks it's what I needed to Know, It's never going to be a queen, but I really hate to take short cuts. just becase I am going to keep the car. I wonder if the windshield will be hard to find. Something to do this winter.

    I've heard they are and then I've heard some say not. Best bet is to check around before you begin.

    my windshield was easy to find, i went to a local glass shop and my bill for the windshield replacement WITH the seal was $165.00

    my cowl is rusted through as well, but i glassed the outside of the cowl over, and i left the windsheild washer hoses sticking through (the holes are only as wide as the louver and about 3/8" ling) and my carpet still gets wet every time it rains.. no idea where the water is coming from, but it is really annoying to have wet feet when driving in the rain.. yes it rains in arizona, not all the time, but it rains.

    cowl panel? what part is that.. the inside or outside part between the hood and windshield...


    if its outer.. mine is ok.. but the inside part is rusted out bad
