Could you give us a list of your chassis modifactions? Do you have a roll bar and subframe connectors? How many ponies are you putting to the pavement?

It has a roll cage and subframe connectors. Stock leafsprings with Caltracs. Don't know how much power for sure I'm estimating around 350 or somewhere in there.

Is there any way to make a strong frame without using a roll cage? I really don't want to put a roll cage in the car. I'm looking to be putting out about 400 hp to the rear wheels but I won't have as much traction as you because I won't be running race slicks on the back.

there as an article somewhere I read where a super class racer used 1 5/8" Chrome Moly tubing inside a Camaro's frame rails to stiffen it up. That would do the trick, but I 'd use mild steel tubing if you dont have access to a TIG welder. Also, just a thought but if you plan on doing any drag strip racing, they usually require a roll bar or cage (depending on how fast your car is) as a saftey item. Dont have it, they won't let you run normally.

Looks really good, 350hp sounds about right if everything is hooking up right....and it does appear that way!

What slicks are you using? What size?

The slicks are Hoosier 29.5x11.5W. They actually measure 15.25 on the section width 13.5 on the tread and 30.7 inches tall.

Go to www.hardcore50.com they have a performance calculator in the "members area". If you know how much it weighs and you have a known e.t. it will give you a pretty accurate calculated answer on your horsepower.

    Re: .

    Mavman427,

Do yourself and your passengers a life-saving favor and put at least a 6-point roll bar in your car.

I slid off a wet road doing 60-70mph into a bunch of pine-trees. I was glad I had the roll bar in mine. Me and my passengers lived to tell the story. Without it - I'm not sure ????

    Food for thought,

    Rick

    Nice, straight looking ride.

To each his own, but I'd do something about the wheels.

(I remind myself that his is running and mine isn't :( )
