    Missing my old '70 Maverick
Looks cool, but I'm guessing, if not done correctly, they could easily choke the performance of the engine (as the tubes have to make a pretty quick turn to go the the side). But I'm sure the 'cool' factor outweighs the loss in h.p. for street use.

Also, in TX, the exhaust outlets have to exit behind the passenger compartment (includes rear passengers) to pass safety inspection, so, "no-can-do-here" (don't know about your state laws ??).

If you just HAD to have the side pipes - you could run your working exhaust passed the rear-end then point downward and have the non-functional side-pipes for looks (to each his own).

I don't know who's this Maverick is or was, but would like to know if it's still around. (It could do without the white and miss-matched wheels and the bumper bars, IMHO, but still looks nice).

Where have I seen this? Anyone?

    Side pipes

On the Jegs web site they have the Dynomax side pipes. The part numbers are 289-89300 and 289- 89301. Check them out at Jegs.com.

That looks like one of the Maverick GT's.

The web operator of this site or Selvey may know.

my car used to have showtubes,,,sidepipes

I installed Doug Thorley Showtubes on my car in 1976. Yes, they were somewhat restrictive and had to make one heck of a bend out of the headers. I took them off in 1984 and still have them as they are still in great shape. (nope, not for sale either). There is a pic somewhere on the internet of my car with those on it. When I find it I will download it and post it here.

    patriot side pipes

I put Patriot side pipes on my 74, sounds great, and I don't believe the bend in the exhaust inhibits flow. I think I should have put the next longer size on, but it looks good anyway.
