Maverick inspired Pinewood derby

Well my boy got 4th place. (out of 18)One spot short of a trophy But he had a good time. I ran out of time to finish mine, so no new pics to post.

 

Just tell Jr. the race was rigged.

4th outta 18 ain't nothing to frown about.

 

LOL We were joking with the officials that the race was fixed. 1st place's parents were running the finish line(they stepped out when there son raced). 2nd place's dad was running the starting line, 3rd place's dad was running the starting line. It was good fun for everyone. I spent Thursday and Friday nights setting up the track(had to haul it from one church to another), and Sat. helping with the race and then tearing the track down and hauling back to the chuch for storage. It was rewarding helping the kids that needed help with their cars and I think everyone had a good time.

 

my uncle would edge my pinewood derby cars wheels like hot wheels so they would only run on the inner most part of the wheel... guess that was cheating no differant then the whole family running the track though right

 

I'm quite flattered. It's great he did well in the race. I remember when I did the derby in the Scouts. Doing well sticks with you for a long time.
