Hey guys, just wondering if anyone would be so kind as to post a clear pic and dimensions of their early grill emblem. Not exactly sure when emblem changed if it did at all. I'am looking for width and depth. All I have is the metal backing plate so bolt pattern is not important. Thinking about doing a billet aluminium replacement!!!! since finding a suitable replacement can be difficult. Thx in advance to all, Jamie
Dunno if this helps. Best I could do with what I had. Outside DIA Appr 3-7/16" - X 3/4" Thick Good luck.
thank you sir! now to hit up my buddy in cnc. I'll let ya all know how it turns out. thanks again rick!! Jamie
yep, no prob on the pics. Also doing a set of billet side mirrors. just filled holes on d/s door and waiting for primer to dry so I can drill new holes. I'am taking pics of the whole process because I'd like to do a tutorial on this site if it meets approval. Jamie
I bet some of us would like to buy some of these products...Be sure to save the CNC program for later date. I for one would love to see one of the center grill emblems...with intent to purchase.
well, today I went over the intial design on paper and it looks great!! this basically means that the programing portion of the job is done! he's busy making other parts and says he can start machining in about a week, maybe with a little back scratchin I can have it sooner, we'll see. Anyway I'll keep all of you posted. Jamie
Very nice! Are the steer horns raised? I assume that it's made of aluminum? and that the orange color is just a reflection? Did you buff it to get the shine or is that how it came out of the CNC? I know I know question questions questions.
Thanks for all the positive comments guys. To answer some more questions....The steer horns are slightly raised, but not as much as the original. I kinda liked it this way. Yes it is made of aluminum. The reflection you see in the prior pic is of my shirt, Its damn hard to take a good pic of something shinny. As far as the finish, yes, I did a quick polish. I plan on selling these in the very near future. I'll offer these in a plain machined finish so you guys (if there is intrest) can do your own unique finish, powder coat, polisihed, painted, the sky is the limit. I had these made with recesses(spelling)on the back so they fit directly to your grill. They are ready to be tapped to 1/4-20. Whats the price you ask? Well, I'am still dealing with the guy on that one. I 'll know more tomorrow. Btw Rick, Thanks again for the help, I'll pm ya with a surprise!!! Here's another pic for your enjoyment. Thanks, Jamie
