The e-mail was from Todd Raymer, Event Specialist for Carlisle productions. It seems he was looking at the issue of Auto Restorer that our Stallion appears in. I have'nt even seen it yet. Anyway, he approched the Event Manager for the All-Ford Nationals about considering the Stallion for thier Invitational Display. For those who are familiar with Carlisle shows, the Ivitational Display cars are the lucky few that are displayed indoors. The Event Manager apparently was interested. All I have to do is fill out the Invitational Display form and include some pictures of the car. If it does get the honor of being chosen, Dale and I would recieve free admission for the entire weekend, free on-grounds parking for a second vehicle, and a plaque with the owners name and picture of the car. Additionaly, a picture of the car would be printed in the event magazine. Then he asked if I would be interested. God, how could I NOT be interested! In fact, I was totally stunned. I had to read that e-mail 3 times before it completely sunk in as to what Mr. Raymer was saying. When Dale read the e-mail, he was as blown away as I was. I especially liked how he ended his e-mail. He said, and I quote " It is nice to see someone taking the time to restore these cars ( Mavericks), as they are somewhat unrecongnized and under-appreciated ( in his personal experiance, anyway). Like I told the Event Manager, there are a lot of nice Mustangs out there, but only a handful of nice Mavericks!" Tomorrow I will give him a call and tell him I am very interested. Even if the car is not chosen, it is so cool to know it was even considered. This is something I never even thought about doing before. I just had to share this little bit of good news with you guys.
Major Congratulations! .... and one more emoticon: (I clicked on your username for a picture in your gallery but.... none there. Got one you can post in this thread?)
Congrats Jean and well deserved. The way Ford Carlisle has gone the last 3 years, indoor display is the only way to go. I had thought of submitting mine for the last 3 years but just never seem to get around to filling out the forms.
congratulations jean and dale. from what i've seen of the stallion it definitely deserves to be recognized. wtg.
