Hey guys! When I first became a member of this forum I mentioned that I was searching for another Maverick since I sold my original 1970 Maverick. Well the search is over.
    :bananaman

I located a 1971 Grabber in Ohio in pretty decent shape and it is now resting comfortably in my garage. Yay! It is a 250 six with a C-4 trans and is currently completely stock. But not for long. I just washed it and took some pics. The paint actually looks better in the pics than it really is. There is some oxidation on the hood and some rust at the rear wheel wells and under the hood, but not too bad. Front bumper is pretty good but the rear bumber will definately need to be re-chromed.

WOW! very nice find. If the stock paint isnt too badly chipped and is just oxidized, you should be able to use some rubbing compound to buff it up and then polish it with polishing fluid. my mavs paint started looking a 110 times better after doing that. only had to have mine painted after doing some body work.(replaced both fenders and pulled out the hood from a semi backing into it)

Cool ... welcome to the 71 Grabber club! That pretty much looks like mine when I got it. FYI ... Not sure about the rest of the but your hood has definitely been repainted. That hood stripe is not factory ..... Dan

Yes, you are correct. This car has been re-painted. It was originally red with black accents.
