it was great i went to the junk yard a few weeks ago and found a 1980 granada with a 9" on it. i went back today and pulled it off. it had 2.47 gears in it. so i started searching for a better pumpkin. i found a 73 ranchero with 3.25 gears in it. spent a few hours swaping the 3rd member but i think it was completly worth it.

    Cool find!

3.25 gears are a good driver gear too!

    Granada?

I had heard Ford put 9" (disc brake) rear ends in the more rare Lincoln Versigh (SP?), but I didn't realize Granadas had a 9" as well. Is it a direct bolt in for a Mav, and is the width correct, or do you need to do something with the offset of your wheels to compensate for a difference?

Granada got the 9" with drums.
There was an option for a time that gave you rear discs too.
So, you could possibly find a Granada with 9" discs, but it would be like finding hen's teeth.
The Granada rear is 1.5" wider, or .75" per side. No big deal, unless you spent a bunch of dough on aftermarket rims that just barely fit before the rear swap.
The Lincolin rear is a little wider, almost 2" overall.
All mounting points and such are indentical...
