Hello, I have cam across a t5 trans that has the #s 1352-065, what I have found out, it is from a Ford 1984 Mustang/Capri 5.0 V8 http://www.5speeds.com/t5/index.html the guy that has it said he was told it was out of a 90s camaro he only wants $50 for it. Should I get it or leave it alone.

    Thanks Jim

$50 sounds good, unless it's missing some teeth.
The '84 was an early version and supposedly was
either not as durable or had some issue. I think
the better ones are called 'world class' T-5's, 86's or '87 and up.

Personally I would pass......Gm did use those trannies as well. Just slightly different in how they were manufactured. Get some pics of it and post it here and maybe we can confirm it is a ford T5

I'd have a hard time passing up a $50 T5 if it's in good shape, no matter what it's from. Could probably make a decent profit off of it on ebay.

My wifes Cusion step brother has it and it looks clean. If i get a chance this weekend I will take some pics of it. I know its not the good WC t5 and are rated at 260lbs torq but i was thinking if it will work it be good just to get my mave setup for a t5 and run it till I can get me a good 93 trans that is rated at 330lbs torq.

    Thanks for everones comment

Rebuild kits are less than $150 for last one I got. Could be a good deal if it fits.

Personally, i would pass on it too. Better to put that $50 towards a good t5 than a "temporary" setup, especially considering the work required to get the clutch to function properly.
The mustang message boards are a good place to find cheap t5's.
