I spent Father's day at the Orange County Cobra Club's annual concours. We estimated that there was probably 25 million dollars in attendance. I entered my Maverick in the Special Interest catagory & took a first place(Imagine that!). My Boss 302 took a first place at this show 2 years ago as well. Mind you, I'm not a member. As you guys have probably figured out, I am into road racing rather than the other forms of the sport, but I enjoy all forms of the sport. Here's a couple of pics that any car enthusiast could appreciate, no matter what your racing preference is. The first pic here is one of two Lemans Tiger fastbacks ever produced & is valued at well over 2 million dollars. This car took first in the Competition Catagory
Here's what took Best of Show, which was also in the Competition Catagory. This Lemans winning Cobra Daytona Coupe is valued at around 10 million dollars! Enjoy...
And a pic of the intake system of these two cars, which is my all time favorite. I'm currently installing this Weber setup on my 67 Mustang coupe open track car that I am building.
Those car are super nice. Very expensive!! Congratulations on your first place. That is awesome! Makes your hard work even more worth it. Congrats!! -Corbin
It is nice to see those cars all fixed up and retired . If you look at old pictures of them when they were campaigned they were always all banged and bent up . Some one correct me but I think there was certainly less than 10 daytonas made . I think it was 8 and one was under constuction when Ford pulled the pin on Shelby . Hence the huge price tags . I would love to see those cars in person . Lots of history around them.
I know this is off topic but it goes with the thread and it is very interesting! Look at this page and read the story about this Cobra Daytona. http://carsinbarns.com/blueovalsinbarns/pg35.html
