    Hello All
I'm not new. but have been gone for a while.
so i'm back with a new idea. I have an amost complete 94 ford mustang (sister hit a tree)with a 3.8 v6 that I want to put in a early mavrick. Along with the E.F.I. 3.8 the trany, wireharness, computer, rearend,4 wheel disc brakes, maybe the front suspension. Will all be transferd to the mavrick.
    Has any one done this?
Have any Ideas that might help?
Or know of a car that will be right for this swop?

    Thank You
    for you help

Welcome back, guess I never noticed you were from Missouri before.

I think that would be an awesome setup. Not sure how wide the 3.8 is, hope it fits.

Two 1973 LDO Mavericks (one 4 Drag one 4 driving like Mad on the roads :) ) also have a 75 6cyl Stock! Ok, well sort of Stock :P
welcome back... but i have owned two 3.8 in fox bodies before. i don't see why they woundn't fit they were a bit narrow if the same as a 5.0.. if i recall plug were quite easy to change in that car compared to the 5.0.

but god the 3.8s were the biggest gutless wonder ever made! and if it was a TBI it was even worse! then again its probably better then an 250 i6 but not by much!

full throttle half throttle was all the same ;)

The 3.8 seamed fast in the mustang. but it might be a lighter car.

More info: the 3.8 has 187xxx miles on it.

Actually I'm pretty sure the Maverick is lighter then any Mustang ever made, no matter the year. Exception may be a big bumpered/later model Maverick, but even they weren't too bad weight wise. I guarantee the Maverick is lighter then that SN95 'stang.

I think the 3.8 would be a great setup in a Maverick, would probably run circles around a 250. I know where I can get a 3.8 for free that runs great, and believe me I've been thinking about it. I'd put a T5 behind it though. But 187,000 is alot of miles on a 3.8, if it hasn't blown the head gasket yet, I bet it will soon. If you want to do it right, I would buy a lower mileage or rebuilt long block and use the Mustang for everything else you need to swap it into the Maverick. I believe the 3.8 is basically the same width as a 302.
