I was just prepping a 77 door to replace one on my 77 Maverick and noticed that the inside metal is smooth, unlike the textured ones I normally see. Is this something that was only done in 77? If so are all 77's smooth? The door that is now on my car is not original and came off a 73. It is not as nice as the rest of the car so I decided to replace it with this one. I do not have access to the car so I can't check the passenger's door to see if it is textured or not. I'd hate to get this one all done and find out it doesn't match. I can't find any other 77's around here to check. Hopefully someone will know. Thanks,
    Fred

Most of the 1977's I have seen have the smooth doors. I have seen some 1976's.

'76 could be that way too. I am dealing with that now...long story...don't like it either.
