 Well, this pic is the result of 15 hours of work this weekend !! Inline6 came down for the weekend and this is what we got done ! I'm really excited.
Thursday I picked the block up from the machine shop, tanked-.30 over, new cam bearings. Friday Inline6 got here at 6:00pm and we worked till 1:00am. The heads are gasket matched, nothing real fancy but should breathe better. I have some more work to do but I'm alot further than I was. I think we both need a break from the garage !!! :drink::drink:

looks good, I really dig the way you painted the motor(y) . Did you paint the block silver or is that the cast iron paint that eastwood sells?

Thanks for the responses guys !! The paint is actually 316L Industrial heat rated stainless steel. It actually has stainless steel in the paint !! And no !, that is not Chevy orange !!:biglaugh: On the other hand, it's not Ford red either !
I come from a Mopar background and some things are hard to let go. Just wanted something a little different ! The color is Chrysler industrial red. It has a little orange cast on the stand but once it's in the semi gloss black engine bay the red will definitly show. Dave, I didn't have enough prep work done to get it in the car this weekend (painting, cleaning etc.). It won't be long though.

What headers you gonna run in there?
Did you shave the towers or no?
Have you test fit the engine/headers?

    Just curious.
I have seen both shaved and not 351w cars, but my memory is fuzzy on how much room you have.
I have been dead set on trying a 351w based Mav for some time now, however I have found a good source for 351c stuff, so my car might get another Cleveland...
I will surely shave the towers this time. It was no fun with full towers.
    Looks good!

    Ratio-
The shocktowers are shaved. I have a total of 27 1/4" from tower to tower. With the headers on, the width of the engine (on the stand) is 25". The headers (as best as we can tell) are old Blackjacks. I set them beside a set of 6901's that have been "messaged" and other than having square collectors on the Blackjacks they look like they'll fit fine. I haven't test fit yet and I'm sure I'll have some kind of issues. But hey, if it were easy, everyone would be doing it !!!!
