Will the older 302 components (heads, oil pans, pump & p/u,timing case, dampner, intakes, distributor, mav motor mounts) work on this engine? Is the firing order the same?

    I'll try

The 5.0 HO changed it's firing order in the early 80's and picked up the 351W firing order. IF this 5.0 shortblock was intended for a late model Mustang, it is setup for a rear sump oil pan. Mavericks use front sump. Check that. The timing cover is likely very different. There may not be an opening for the manual fuel pump if you intend to keep that. Distributor on a roller cam engine requires a bronze or roller quality gear. Intake should work depending on heads and intake used-they are the same. Damper is likely different due to flywheel weighting difference. Motor mounts should be fine.

Yes, the older parts will bolt on the newer block. But check the dampner, older blocks are balanced different than newer blocks.

Yes every thing will work but you will need a 50oz damper and a 50oz flywheel
