Alright , I finaly got started on putting my pst 'suck'spention on my mav today and didn`t get too far. First off one of the upper baljoints were not for a maverick so I though thats alright I`ll just call them up tomorrow and have them send me the right one . Now I`m trying to put the polly bushings in the new lower controll armes but I can`t get the rubber bushings out to do so . It wouldn`t be that big of a deal but I need to get my maverick rolling before sunday :slap: . You guys have any tips on how to get the rubber bushings out of the lower control arms ?

If you can .....place the entire control arm in a freezer(over night)...also the new bushings, when you are ready to do the job(leave the new bushings in the freezer until just before the install).....use a Blue-Tipped wrench(torch) to throw some heat around the bushing. Use both extreme temperatures' to your advantage.Let us know how it goes.

Most people just replace the entire lower control-arm, which I believe PST offers. I have read that PST's balljoints (for Mavericks) are not very good. CJ Pony-parts is a great source for Maverick front suspension parts, providing that you know exactly what you need. They only have part numbers for Mustangs, but many of the front suspension parts for '67-'73 Mustangs interchange with Mavericks/Comets...

I think TL was suggesting that you could have gotten new lower control arms with the bushings already installed!
There's no trick to it (heating and freezing helps, though!). You just need to pound, pound, pound.

i don't think anyone has poly ones built in.

btw elliot putting the polys in will be just has hard as the pulling the other ones out ;) i used a bench press to push them out and one to put them in.

I put PST Poly-graphite bushings in my '83 Trans Am, and I had a machine shop press out the old lower control arm bushings ($30) and had them press-in the new bushings (another $30). Cost me $60 total, but was better than trying to pound them out and in myself...
