    74 Maverick 250 3spd auto 78trans am 400 "some" go fast goodies:)
Hi everyone this is my first time posting on the board and im planning on staying because this is a great resource for my maverick. i figured since im planning on being a regular here that i should tell a little about myself. well im 16 and live in NJ obviously with my parents. im just ur average tshirt and jeans guy that has an above average love afair for cars. The first car that i got was a 78 Trans Am 400 with some go fast goodies with a hurst dual gate shifter that i like alot.i have photos if your interested. i recently picked up a 74 maverick with a 250 6cyl with a 3spd auto. I wasnt exactally looking for a maverick but a close friend had it and i couldnt pass it up for 300$ and only 35,000 original miles on it. An interesting fact about the car is that it was previously owned by Jodie Sands some of the older crowd may know of her because of her gold record album "With All My Heart".

Well more about the car. it needs quite a bit of body work which i have already started doing and alot of the chrome pitted but it will all come together in time. The previous owner had it painted a robins egg blue color which personally, i have no idea what she was thinking because the original color was a dark metallic blue(which im also looking for the proper name or product number so i can get it repainted) Ive also picked up the autokrafters book so i can get some parts for it but is there any more distributers that deal with mavericks?
Im looking for a good manual that would give me diagrams and such on the car the only one i can seem to find is the chilton on ebay. is this a good manual?
I have a few more questions but i will save them for a little later because this post is already getting quite long.if you would like to see some pics of the maverick let me know. Thank you for any information you can provide.

sayreville here exit 124 parway. welcome . we are sure getting a lot of mav interest here in the great garden state. maybe we can all hook up discuss and check out each others cars. maybe a group day trip to klingers!!!!!(for you newbies... a yard in pa off 78 with 30 mav wrecks!) representing nj in force next month at the "cruise for the cause" in pittsburgh would be great too!

rob one thing you'll find out about this bunch- all you need is a maverick or comet... what kind of shape doesn't seem to matter to anybody here. (you obviously never saw MY mavericks) some of the cars are so pretty you don't even want to get near them for fear of scratching them. some are less than perfect.(like mine) some are in between. the best thing is that everybody has a story or two, advice, answers to questions but most of all, a lot of fun when we all get together. being a bit of a nut won't hurt either. c'mon...

Welcome aboard the maverick train! Love to see pics of the Maverick though. no firebird pics please  j/k

but as far as info i'd aggee with scrapper that the Chilton's manual is a good basic manual for general maverick stuff! other wise the boards here always a good source.
