Last fall I took the Bruiser out drag racing and on the way home I noticed it was smoking from the drivers side exhaust pipe. I figured it was just a bad spark plug and didn't worry about it. It runs fine and and no noticeable noises. It's sad in the garage all winter. I took it out today for inspection and decided to change the plugs. They all look about the same nice light rust color on the ceramic. but noticed one had some oil out side of the threads. Any how I changed the plugs and it's still smoking. It has about 2,000 miles on the rebuild and only been down the track about a dozen time, I keep the rpms under 5,500. Any thoughts on what I did to it? Valve seals? guides? broken piston? broken rings? They are Hypereutectic pistons with the low fiction coatings. Looking for ideas.
how bad is it smoking? where on the threads is the oil starting? do you have good vavle cover seal? oil from the breathers or valve cover seal can leak and go in through the threads and come out as light amounts of smoke(little puffs).
heads were rebuilt with the short block. new guides. MAybe the seals dried oout sitting over the winter months last year?
my friend had an engine done long ago and they didnt misalign the ring gaps correctly. started smoking after only about 2k miles. hope it isnt rings though. good luck.
I just added a bad video file of how bad its smokin'http://mmb.maverick.to/gallery/misc.php?do=downloadfile&i=1675Hope its not the rings. I'd hate to tear this apart agin.
