    t-5 and drive shaft length

Question for those of your with a 302 - WC t-5 - 8" rear combo. What is the length of your drive shaft? I need to have mine cut down but do not yet have the tranny installed to measure the length. I do however need to get my drive shaft in to the shop ASAP.

    Thanks

115.00 to shorten and balance? Does that sound fair?

my old d/s fits like a glove, spline even lined up. I wonder why these cars vary so much with fitment

Just FYI, 6 speed and aluminum driveshaft out of a '03-'04 Cobra fits w/o mods. Only need crossmember mods and adapting rear u-joint. C6 and same driveshaft with a C6 front yolk are the same lengths overall. If you are going to have a driveshaft cut down, get an aluminum one out of a late model Explorer. It has an easier u-joint to adapt.

Some guys with T5s use a cable instead of the old mechanical linkage. With a cable the engine block doesn't have to be aligned as accurately front-to-rear as when you have an EQ bar that has to move freely. A 1/2" front or back can make a difference.

Oddly enough, the driveshaft did not have to be modified at all. Even the yoke from my c-4 slid right in and has about 1 inch of play.

    Thanks for the help guys.
