I got this car 2 years ago. I then went to Iraq for 19 months and have returned as of the 4th of Dec. I started driving it when I got back and 3 weeks ago got a 75 parts car for the disk brakes and the 5 lug 8in rear end. I got my tires and wheels today front 15X7 215/60R15, Rear 15X8 295/50R15. So I figured that I would put the 8in under it tonight and put on the new feet. Let me know what you think of the look and the stance of the car. Keep in mind that I grew up in the 60s and 70s so the street rod look of that era is near and dear to my heart. Next is the body work and paint and then the drive train. Let me know what you think. Don
I like the stance, I did all of my running around in the 70's as well. Like the wide tires and raised rear. Keep us posted on your progress.
I was thinking something in the blue range. Have not decided on wether to go with some sort of dark blue metallic or a Dark gunmetal grey metallic with a blue hue to it. I dont have a whole lot of body work to do to it but there is enugh that I could not paint it a dark color and get away with it right now. I have 2 small rust spots to fix (one in the left rear quarter panel and one in the corner of the passenger door. Both commen places) and then the small stuff. I do not know why but every Mav that I have ever had (16 in all) has had at least one side with a dent in the body line just in front of the door handle. ( I think all you guys know where I am talking about) This one has them on both sides. The dents probably come from someone leaning aganst the door a little to hard. After all its Just a Maverick!!!!!!!!!! Hehehehehe......... I am going to create a web page to track the progress of the car, I will post he site on here so all can see the progress on the build. I should have some good info for all to see. I did not however take any pictures of the swap over to disk brakes and the rear end swap. Last night it took me 2 hours to pull the rear end out of the 75, pull the rear end out of the 69 1/2, put the 75 rear end in the 69 1/2 and be driving the car. The only thing that I have to do today is hook up the e-brake cable to the 8in and ite swap will be done. I will keep every one posted on the progress. Don
