Looks really cool. Kinda reminds me of some kind of old corporate prototype. Acornridge- good job as well. I never saw that thread.
Dennis you could do the knight rider thing with it But you would have to slow the sound effect down since it so long
I am thinking that for 4 way flashers, I could have the end sections light first, then sequentially progress in until they meet in the center, then sequentially go back out. I figure I would make 4 sections per side.
Well, while we're shareing ideas... This was something I was thinking about a while back. I was actually thinking more along the lines of the Mercury Cyclone look, and keeping the gas cap in the middle, but I guess our cars aren't quite as wide so it turned out looking more like one solid row of lights. One is with the reverse lights still there and the other is without reverse lights. I guess you could make the 2 middle lights flip down and put the gas cap behind them. The one with no revers lights, I kind of pushed both tail lights out a little bit to put more space between them in the center. In real life, it would probably be more work then it's worth.
Those Comet tail lights look cool but with that pot metal housing they use, it would be next to impossible to modify them.
Dennis, tell us more about the material you used to make the bezel. That was by far my biggest challenge. Is it an extrusion? How did you bend it so perfect?
I didnt make it. A friend of mine, the guy who bought my 77, runs a CNC machine. He made it. Its machined from a big chunk of aluminum. And yes, it was damn expensive. By time I get the light built, I will have more in the tail light assembly than most people have in their entire car. But hey, money's no object when you dont have any.
I know how that fills im going tomarrow to pick up a junker from a man in the QUARTERS not the good kind eather but it has some things that i cant find down here. the college life and pay is killing my car. every cent goes in my car i guess that is why people say i have no cents when it comes to my toys.
The "Cyclops"! One of the two best ones i've seen so far. I've been calling razorsharps "the razor". So these two come to mind when I see things like this
