Trani Problem

Sounds like loose Bands, could explain reverse and 2-3 shift.

 

When you changed the fluid and filter did you install the check ball and spring correctly? Really sounds like time for a rebuild.

 

Ok. Now i am ticked off. i checked the hoses they are there and look ok. And when we took the pan off a couple of springs came off, we (my dad and I) read the maunal and put them in correctly.

Any way i was in the parking lot and couldnt get my car into reverse, i have notice that in the morning when it the temp and car are cool, the trani acts fine, but when i get it warm and the liquids circulating the trani starts to act up. I might just take it and get it completely rebuilt.

 

Are you real sure you got it completely full of fluid? Not being a wise-azz, but it sounds like it is not getting proper pressure. Check it in park, after running through the gears, while the car is running. And, don't get pizzed off, just get it fixed. Hope I haven't offended you, but sometimes little things like that can get by you. Let us know.

 

Hey, its not frustrating talking about it, its finding the time to do fix it around school and work. School ends This friday and then i will have all the time in the world to fix it. The reason i get frustrated is that i know i have to drop the pan and get that Fluid all over me again. Jeeze that stuff stinks. I can laugh about it. Your not affending me either.

good thought. some of the stuff got in the gears of the Airwrench and trew the fluid all over my face. Crap happens what can you do. Just have to learn from my mistakes.

Now i have a big problem. my Trani is leaking from somewere, and i cant tell from were. I was just under there looking at it just after i drove it to see were it is coming from. It looks like it is coming from the top and dripping off of the crossmember, i checked all of the lines and there is one that might be questionable. All of the others are ok from a look, most were to hot to touch so i didnt.

This is agravating. I have to drive my dads old 1962 Cadi. LAND YACHT.

 

Oh yeah i have almost completely lost Reverse.

 

i have had a lot of fords over the years i would bet money that your bands in the trans are wore out time for a rebuild.

 

Time for a rebuild......bring it to me and $250 bucks later you'll have a new tranny.

 

were do i send it that is a great price. i talked to a place called Hard Core Transmition and they wanted nearly 400. I said forget that and yesterday i tightend up drive band, i think it is 2nd to 3rd, but it works for now.
