Here is what I have done so far: I swapped out the upper and lower control arms, 600#/in springs, strut arm bushings, shocks, 4 leaf leafsprings and 14x7 rims with 235-60x14 tires. I have ordered 7/8" front and rear sway bars. I hate a car that rolls through the turns. The car is lower than stock I think, at least when I got it. Will a Mustang GT steering box fit this car? :drive:
    Next the engine.
    Thanks,
    Ken

Step 1: get rid of the big bumpers! You'd be amazed how much weight you're looseing and how diffrently the car drives.

Mind if I ask what that cost?

    Ken,

Mind if I ask what all those mods cost you? My '74 Comet leans through turns also -- I don't know how many leans she's got before she doesn't bounce back to center!

My father-in-law just changed out the struts and he said he put in additional leaf springs. I like what you did also. Just want to watch how much dough I throw at this car. My motorcycle is feeling left out!

Hey Jim1970, nope I don't mind. I have a friend at a Ford dealership, he got me the upper and lower control arms built, spring seats, strut arm bushings, for 263.36 delivered. Randy Church at www.fordclassicparts.com is a great guy to work with. Yes, this is a plug.
The front springs, p/n C305, were from Mustang Unlimited for about 75.00. (I don't like doing business with them, because there prices in the catalog aren't the same as they charge at the counter). Shocks were from Advanced Auto, I think Gabrial gas shocks, 12.00 each for rear and 11.? for the front. The swaybars are from AutoKrafters. I think they were 400.00 for the pair plus mounting hwd. I cant wait to get them.

Jamie, I am planning on cutting out the middle and ends of the bumper support and just leaving the bumper mounts for the stock bumpers. I also have fiberglass MustangII bumpers in the basement, I may see if they will fit.

Another thing, I'm 45 years old. My Lightning will have a new 400hps 500+ft lb torque engine, but the Maverick is more fun to work on. Go figure!
I cant wait to get the 3 1bbl set up going. I ordered a new header yesterday, good thing for EBAY!

Also, if you need a good chassis guy, and you are willing to drive to Lawerenceville Ga, let me know, I'll get you set up.

Dude, I'm walking distance from Lawrenceville. I live on Lawrenceville Suwanee Road just off I-85 North, about 3/4th mile past Old Peachtree Road/Horizon Drive. You can't straighten frames can you? 'cuz if you can, we got some talking to do. :yup:

Dude, go to Arrington & Blount Ford and ask for Eddie O'Neal. He is a big Ford fan. If he can't help you, he will know who can.
