Cool, I taught my wife how to drive a car way back When, but she was always to scared to do a burnie!

She was scared at first, and was uncomfortable with the B&M shifter, so we sat a while and went through the gears, then learned how to use the line lock, then she did a short one just to prove it to me, then I got out and used the camera.

Not much left to the tires. I have bought two new 255/60r15s to be installed this wednesday or thursday, and wanted her to burn the last bit of rubber off before I replaced them. As you can see, she had no fear once she figured out the shifter

Cool thing is...this car was originally purchased by her great grandmother in 1973, and has been owned by only her and us. So, the few times she has driven it have been a "personal" experience, as she used to ride around in it all the time with her great grandmother.

When we got done, the tires felt like play-doh. You could literally use your fingernail to peel small lumps off and stretch and roll them up. We had to let them cool down before we drove (very slowly) the mile or so back home. You could also feel the rocks and gravel on the road sticking to them and flinging back off, sounded like driving on a gravel driveway.

Once the new tires come in, that is it for burnouts...yeah, right :evilsmile

I actually have more confidence in her now, since she figured out how to get it back into Neutral and Park. Before, she could get into 1st thru 3rd, but couldn't get it out of gear (same thing happened at the TXDot yearly inspection station last year, started honking the horn, and I ignored her for a while thinking she was testing the horn. Finally, walked over and she had her foot on the brake and sitting in 3rd, not able to find Neutral).

Uh...I don't think so. Our "two car garage" can only hold ONE maverick :D

Our checkbook can only hold 1/2 a maverick...
