Howdy! (That's Texan for Hello) After some absence visiting this site, and FINALLY unearthing my Comet GT, I've decided to join up! With this cars 35th birthday coming up (January 1972 - car was built within a week of my birthday!), I've decided to finish what I started and put it back on the road. Looking forward to conversing with you all :Handshake (I need the encouragement!) Thanks! James
Thanks for the welcome! Along time ago (circa 1998/1999)...couldn't remember it! LOL... I do have pics - I will see if I can find them and scan them for all to share...I've had this car since 1994 - its been parked since 1996 (engine failure) and moved no less than a half dozen times. I've been collecting parts for it for past 10 years (I can source rather easily btw - pm me and I'll find it!) and now, with its 35th birthday coming up, its time to revive it. Its a Dark Jade Comet GT, F-code with floor shift automatic, tan factory buckets with cloth inserts, and 3:00 8 inch...factory black reflective stripe on drivers side still intact (with cracks) - passenger side had some prior minor cosmetic damage (nothing structural). This board is great! Seeing pics of other peoples cars gives me some more enthusiasm to get this thing rolling again under its own power! James
LOL...thanks everyone...I was at my shop today, and "Da Vomit" looked mad...I am clearing a path and will soon be setting it center stage for the attention it deserves! Sidenote: With all this "Retro" styling going on, and the fact that gas prices have spiked in the past year, I wonder what the chances of Ford building a "RetroMaverick" would be!?! We should start a petition! LOL...
