The mav is gone but i'm still here!
so a week ago i thought this was going to be a great weekend i was going to go hang out

with some of the so-cal members and was ging to get alot of things for th emav but

slowly it went downhill.First i had forgotten i had been assigned to babysit my cousin

and my brother since my parents were taking a trip to LA so i had to cancel on the

meeting with jamie and the others...then when i get to the junkyard and i found alot of

cool things including some nice probe seats a pair of headers,a fuel sender, a broken

stallion center cap(on a mustang II?), and something i had a never seen a Q-jet style

carb by motorcraft actually there was like 4 of then on LTD's but this was looked brand

new...so when i go to pay i ask the guy how much are the headers and he said 40 bucks

and i was like alright i'll take them then he says the total will be $80 for them then

i tell him WTF isnt it the half of sale and he said no, then i show him the ad and he

calls his manager and the manager sayd "oh that sale is only at the ontario location"

and i say "but it clearly says all locations".. then we get into a big argument about

false advertisement and acusement of propaganda and it winds down to himn saying if you

dont want our services then dont buy anything but i do anyways and i get the seat and

sender and i bag the center cap along with some other things.

    heres some pics...

Huh? Was it a double the price sale? Was he charging you per header? How can he tell you $40 for the headers, then tell you the total was $80? $40 in taxes? God, if that's the case I'm glad I don't live there. You should be able to buy them brand new for not too much more. Sounds like a total tool to me.

mav75, What yard did you go to? Seems like some of those jerks just pull prices out of there a$$, pisses me off too! . Prices are clearly listed for certain items, regardless of what car they come off, its not a yard sale for petes sake! Anyway, looks like you got a nice wheel there. Is it a grant wheel? Next time you plan a trip let us know and we will take over the joint with mavs and comets!

our Bbq was a success, I'm pretty sure Jayman got some incrimating photos of my dog Elie "the beer drinkin' mutt" passed out.:D pics to follow soon of the whole event!

I don't go for that kinda stuff. I'd give the advertisement paper a call and report the incident. Better yet show up there with the ad and the receipt. Now I"M mad! Some people just don't relize the trouble it is, not to mention the time, to search and travel and pick n pull just to be RIPPED off on what you thought was a deal on some JUNKYARD parts. That is the reason I always walk out with something in my pocket. I DON"T FEEL SORRY FOR THE YARDS.

Amen. I typically try to get something for my trouble too. I've been hosed too, so it all comes out in the wash.

You only have to be 16 to go in yards, well in florida. I hate when they won't sell you the entire car, that would make restorations a ton easier.

Ya, i've been to hillside many times. It's luck of the draw really beacause I have found many nice parts there. Sounds kinda mean but, I usually try to check out with the girls for obvious reasons. Oh, and ya, I get money moneys worth when I go to any yard:evilsmile ... its only fair. Had very good luck with ecology too!

yeah i left the headers on the floor and carb on the counter:mad:

but it was rare finding a non rusted fuel sender, so i had to buy that.
