Yeah too bad I never got to see it in person. I would have loved to have a car like that. Keeping the faith that one will turn up soon. :bananaman

Awesome!!!!....I will give you a call tomorrow. Hopefully this will be all the waiting paying off!! I got a chill when I saw that message. I am leaving for Disney World at 2:00am Wednesday morning driving their via I-10. On the way back I can probably make a detour up to Georgia and look at it personally. I might be driving back a Comet GT to my house!!!:yikes: :yikes:   :bananaman :bananaman

soupbone, I talked with the owner tonight and here is the update...it's a 75 not a 72, it is a comet-gt,yellow with black interior and factory bucket seats,V8,auto trans., about 74,000 or 75,000 miles, paint is about 8 out of a 10,it has factory GT wheels, tires in good shape,he says it had 2 small rust spots on a lower fender but they were cut out and new metal welded in then primed and painted,he says the body is straight and bumpers are in good shape,he has all the original paper work from the last owner, including the window sticker, title, sales recipt and all other paperwork for the car,he's an older gent and has too many cars,he's owned it for 2 years. he wants $5000.00 not a penny less, I am going tomorrow after 2pm to look it over and will take some pics and give you another report on wednesday, hope this helps. wayne

Not yet which sucks. I ended up running low on cash and not being able to do much of anything. Funny though that this post popped up again. I need a mechanically sound car to make sales calls in but I'm not having any luck finding anything in the $2500 range (obviously). I was wondering though if it would be worth it to look for a Comet as a daily driver. I would be using it to make sales calls so I'm not sure it would be a smart decision. Anyone have any V-8 Stangs for cheap? lol :rofl2:

Also my dad is currently restoring an El Camino with his buddy so at some point I'd still like to find a Comet GT. At least he's occupied with the El Camino right now. lol

My 73 V8 Comet is my daily driver. I parked a perfectly good Cherokee in favor of it.

Bear Cat you say...mags, buckets, scoop, side exhaust...my kind of car!
