Hey guys I'm new here obviously. Im about to get a 1974 Mav and me and the buddy Im buying it from are planning to drop in a 351C into it, well did a search and found a good amount of info on what to do my only problem is that I cannot find a site that offers the 351C headers for the swap. Ive googled for both Tubular automotive, and search on total performance and have found nothing. Where else are they sold at, or what am I over looking?

Thanks for the help, Brandon :Handshake

You are overlooking that Tubular does not have a web site.
They are old school and use the phone. ;)

    Welcome to the board!

    Clevelands are great engines.
Put one in a Mav and you get a lot of stares when you pop the hood.
I had a toploader and Lakewood bell on mine, so I had a little trouble with working around the linkage and all, but it fit without shaving the towers. Just can't do a plug change.

I called them last week and ask that very same question. They told me the headers were $400 a set and they would work on the 351C engine swap with no modifications what so ever to the car. I fould that increadable but that is what the guy told me. They are the ones that have one pipe from each side that crosses over under the engine and goes into the other collector.

Thank you very much for letting me know! 400 is a good chunk of change though! :slap:

Run manifolds untill you save up the cash. grind off all the little nubbs and they'll squeeze between the towers.

You have to portapower the towers apart as you drop the engine in when you do it like this... It's a lot more grinding than little nubs though. We tried it once and ended up grinding so much it's a wonder we didn't grind through the casting.
When the portapower was relaxed, the towers squeezed the manifolds so tight that we tried to raise the engine and the cherry picker pulled the entire front of the car off the ground! Nothing holding the engine but the towers against the manifolds.
You also cannot run any tranny but an auto with cable shifter due to the driver's manifold outlet position.

Its not so much I dont have the 400 to spend. Me and my buddy could make a set of headers in his shop for much less. I was just hoping that they would be cheaper and easier is all. We'll just fabricate some instead, no biggie! :drink:
