this year the track (southwestern international raceway, tucson) decided to double up on some months for the summit racing series to finish early. seems the last couple of years we've had problems finishing the series before the et finals because of the monsoon weather here in july and august. anyway final points were posted last night and i've won the series sportsman championship for the 2nd year in a row. also the high school champ and the super pro champ won for the 2nd time in a row also. i was really lucky this year. i missed the first race in january at firebird in phoenix, broke first round of the 2nd race, broke in the run for the money before the first round of the 3rd race, missed the 4th race because of a conflict with the sir tucson track. i couldn't do anything right up there it seems but couldn't do anything wrong in tucson. and when i screwed up my opponent screwed up worse.
AWESOME>... good job.. one day, i want to have a car as consistant as yours.. keep it up p.s. how pissed is everyone at SIR for closing it down so early? lol.. i bet there are some unhappy campers out there right now
thanks. the track isn't closed but the summit racing series is finished. still lots of racing to go to.
i was lucky. i should have lost the 5th race in the first round, but my opponent broke out by .002 and i went on to win the race. if i had lost i wouldn't have gotten the 61 points for the race. i won the championship by 40 points.
I know that ou have to keep with in a certain time limit and you can be lower or high of a certain time so. thats what i know.
a quick explanation is that if i say i can run the 1/4 mile in 12 seconds and you say your car will do it in 15 seconds, you get a 3 second headstart. theoretically we should get there the same time. however that usually never happens. there's always some leeway. however if you go faster than you say then you breakout and lose. also the time dosent start until your car moves out of the staging beams to start the timing. a perfect light is either a .500 or a .000 depending on the timing system he track uses.so say we do run right on the money. both of us a perfect elapsed time. if i have a .020 (.520) reaction time and you have a .040 (.540), then i should get there first by .020 seconds and win. that's a quick explanation and gives everyone a chance. what you really want to do is make your car run as consistent as you can. hope this helps a litle.
