I bought this for a parts car, but I have been driving it around some this weekend and I have decided it is too darn nice to cut up. 1973 4-door Maverick, 302 V-8, AT, PS, and Factory AC. Very little rust at all, just the usual spots behind the rear wheels and that is it. Original paint....never repainted!!!

Brand new tires. 96,000 actual miles. New Carb. AC doesn't work.....vacuum canister leaks and no belt on the compressor. Will have to see if I can get that working or not. If I can get the AC to work, I will go ahead and paint it.

Now you can see whay I thought it was "just a parts car". Little ol lady who bought it new had side swiped a fire hydrant. She sold it to a guy who bought it for his daughter. She refused to drive it, so he sold it last November to the guy I bought the car from. He used it as a daily driver the last 8 or 9 months.

I have another perfect door with the matching blue interior on the other side, so all I need to find is a dog leg and it will be ready to go.

And finally....the perfect interior...except for one crack in the dash. The cloth seats look new, as does the carpet. Found out tonight the heater core leaks....that will be a fun one to change out!!! I have all the original paperwork from when the lady bought it new. Lots of awesome parts....but alas....I will save this one.

Doug Bauer....any cure for this disease??

i've learned.. i can't buy a car just to either use for parts cuz i'll fix it up. Or to say i'm going to use it for a daily driver and not fix it up.. then fix it up! just say no!

Looking back and now it probably wasnt or isnt likely LOL

Doug cant help Craig. Thats like getting a drug dealer to help a drug addict. I picked up a 69.5 over the weekend. Its a little beat up but not much rust in it. I'm hoping one of my local buddies buy it from me cause I really dont want to mess with it.

Looking good Craig! It's amazing how fire hydrants just pop up in the street when you aren't expecting it. :D J/k I bet that made a big sound when it happened. Looks like a nice one, glad you're fixing it up.

P.S. Doug, I bet the blue would look even better in Texas.......:D
