Can you identify these headers?

I bought these headers for the Maverick over a year ago off ebay for $75.00 plus shipping - not knowing I was going to go the 1-3/4" primaries/3" collector route (for strip only).

The priamaires measure 1-1/2" (?? normally 1-5/8") The collector is 2-1/2".

I'm going to put these in the classified section, but only after I determine what they are (Hedman, Hooker, other?).

(moderator, if you want to move this thread somewhere else, it's fine with me - I just didn't want to put them in the classifieds until they're identified).

    I digress.

Can anyone tell the brand and P/N of these headers by looking at the pics? There is a number "268" on one of the flanges - if that's a clue.

    Thanks much guys,

    Rick

    Rick,

I believe that those are Doug Thorley headers the 268 is the part number that fits mavericks.

One more question (I feel like Columbo here)..

Why aren't these headers listed to fit later year models??

    Thanks,

    Rick

lol I have been researching headers lately. I was contemplating buying that set of headers. I really do not know if anybody has tried them so I was worried with fitment issues. I tried as et of doug thorley try Y but that did not fit....lucky for me I also own 67 cougar that they should fit on or I will just ebay them off. Good luck. How much you want for those anyway?

I had a good look at my blackjack/headman headers and those look exactly like them . I'm not saying they are that brand but they could have been copied as those have been around for 25 years .

As far a fit goes they slip right in if you unbolt the motor mount on the side you are installing and jack up a few inches .

    They fit around a C6 too .

Hey Guys, let me clear up a few things (maybe "I'm" the only one not understanding this thread though).

The Thorley headers are a spare set I had on the wall. I bought them in anticipation of using them on the street. I was just curious as to what they are as I am about to put them in the classified section.

I went the SUPER COMP - SUPER EXPENSIVE Hooker 6208-1's (see this thread link - http://mmb.maverick.to/showthread.php?s=&threadid=3049&perpage=20&highlight=62081&pagenumber=1).

Ivy, that thread will tell you bunches about the 1-3/4" primaries and the expenses incurred. I hope it's all worth it after I finish it up. CometGT1974 (Steve) and Purple70 (Jim) are running these currently (although Steve is patching a blown head-gasket so he really doesn't have any seat time with them. Jim might have more to offer as far as comparison to other headers...Jim? You there?)

    Good luck to all,

    Rick

I'll be getting some seat time this weekend (hopefully) at test & tune. I won't have any exact improvement times over the 1 5/8" headers since i've changed so much this winter. I"m sure they will help me out though, just don't know exactly how much. I"ll let everyone know how test and tune goes this weekend!!! Hopefully she'll see a 5.?? pass!!!!!

    WOW!

Impressive expectations - I truely hope you get there. Can you have someone capture your runs on digital video? That'd be an inspiration to everyone!

Good luck and keep us posted,

    Rick

I think Jim (purple70) said he picked up 3/4 of a second when he changed the headers and went to a super victor intake(he did both at the same time) but I also think he went from 1 1/2 headers to the 1 3/4.
