Wow, glad it wasent any worse than it was. They need to put up one of those "Dear Crossing" signs so all the deer cross in the same place and you will know where they are.

If it is that dangerous to drive long distances out there, I would look into trailering the car(s) and hit the deer full speed with an old junker towing truck. Don't even stop, just keep on moving until you get to the show.

I know there is some pride in driving your car in...maybe trailer it to the edge of town, then drive in the last bit (once you are out of deer territory). You and all of us on this forum know the car is perfectly capable of making the drive, it is the obstacles along the way the keep aiming at you that are worrying me!

Sorry to hear about the run in with nature. I have hit so many deer in my life - my Brother-In-Law wants to know if I tie corn on the front of my trucks!

Here is what you need on the Maverick - deer whistles to get their attention and a big ol' booger bar. :evilsmile

scoop and acorn hit it. only the one on my high boy comes up and covers the grill and lights also. even a bear or other vehicle would be hard pressed to damage the actual truck :evilsmile

I have long believed that the late 60's-late 70's Ford Trucks were the toughest ones ever built. A guy on another forum I'm on had his '93 Fox Body Mustang almost ripped in half when he slid sideways through an intersection trying to miss someone who ran a light. A '73 F100 T-boned him and almost ripped the Fox Body in half. When all was said and done, the guy in the F100 pulled the front fenders off the front tires, tied the hood down with a rope and drove on...

Wow, Jean. Sure am glad no one got hurt.

Sorry to hear about the little dent. I sure hope y'all find a good Paint and Body shop to take care of that. ;)

Sorry to hear that Jean. Been there done that. I hit a doe the first night I brought my Mav home from TX. I was going out to show my buddies my new car, I came around a bend and BAMM there she was. Only damage was a burnt out headlight and dented headlight trim. It still had the big bumpers then too. I'd hate to hit one now.
