The handle snapped off of my hurst quarter stick. Damn threads are gone, all stuck up inside of the beer tapper I was using as a shifter. Nothing else wrong with it, don't want to buy a whole new one. Any sugestions? Can I just buy a new stem with threads on it or have a machine shop re-thread the old one? Like I said "stupid question"!:slap:

My thinking is to rethread it. Not a stupid question cause there is no such thing.

Some shifters had replaceable shifter with bolts ... mine does not .. it is welded. Maybe you could just replace the stick?

if the stick is bolted on then Summit sells replacement handles and sticks for them,I saw them when I worked for them earlier this year.

Thanks for the link. I think I found something that looks close. I'll probbly just call them to make sure it's the right part. I might just see if I can come up with something else though. The price of the stick alone is almost half of the cost of a whole new shift kit. That's money I could put elsewhere. I have seen some new shift handles with some kind of adapter that might work.

As long as it's just a "minor stupid question", we're ok with that. Now, keep in mind that if it were more serious, we would have a problem.

Sorry, I need to go to bed. :29:
