Congrats! I'd about swear that old 20's looking Ford just above your car on that page is the one I got stuck behind on Old Peachtree Rd. a few weeks ago. There was like 6 people in it and they were doing about 20 mph.
They have got to take your pictures down. They are longer valid and accurate. You've put the rubber stamp to the engine bay since. I'm going let them know that the pics of your car are outdated. ATTABOY Dan!!!
Dan, I looked through all the pictures this go around. Your car really stands out. First it is damn near perfect in almost every way(which is why you won best of show at the 2005 roundup). Besides that restomodding has become so main stream stock restored cars are getting very hard to find. Quite honestly I didn't understand your passion for a stock rebuild until now.
Thanks ... but my car isn't quite stock ... I built it the way a Grabber should have been built by Ford back in 1971 ... not just an appearance package but some performance as well. My car was restored back to Factory appearance ... except for steering wheel which was available in early 1970 Grabbers and the Wheels which weren't available until 1973 .... The thing is ... since 95% of folks who have Mavericks do alter the engine compartment with appearance mods ... an easy way to be different is to keep it looking factory! If Ford would have sold Grabbers like mine .. their brochure would look something like this: 1971 Maverick Grabber Appearance: Blacked out Front Grill and Rear Panel Dual Snorkel Hood with Stripe Grabber side Stripes Sport Mirrors Rear Integrated Spoiler Forged Alloy Slotted Wheels Deluxe Rim-Blow Steering Wheel 1971 Maverick Grabber Performance: 302-4V 230 HP engine Dual Exhaust 4-speed Toploader Transmission 3.25:1 T-Lok rear
