The $2354 on my invoice is the original 1971 Grabber price ...

    The other prices are:

    200 cyl $39
    Automatic $183
    WSW tires $29

    $251 was total options.

My car also had AM radio ... but didn't show up on Marti's reproduction sticker or report ... hmmm? Wonder how accurate it is .. Perhaps the dealer added the radio? AM radio is listed as an Option in the 1971 brochure.

I don`t think 4V was ever an option on a Maverick, was it ?? I know you`re making this build sheet, I was just curious. Oh, and if you have disk brakes re- read your sheet.

See Dan .... confussion among the rank and file ..... what will the masses think! :biglaugh:

    Ohh
and disc is correct - it comes from the Latin word discus, like the thing they throw in track and field. The discus in this case refers to the rotor.

I didn`t mean the spelling "butthead":)rofl:) I was reading the part of the sheet that said 4 wheel drum, may want to delete that or add optional "DISC"

I have a set of books titled Car Buying Made Easier that were published by Ford Motor Comapny from 1972 to 1977. They each detail the options and prices for all Ford, Lincoln, & Mercury cars.

In '72 they don't list the 302 engine as an add-on. The prices are given for the base cars with either the 170 or 302, and then the 200 & 250 are add-ons to the 170 car. (From another non-Ford book I have, it appears that was also the case in 1971)

Base 2 door Grabber Sport Sedan with 302 - $2,523.00

You will have a ton of fun with this! I did the same thing with my '66 Fairlane. I even added some very obvious devations to it so people wouldn't think I was really trying to pass the car off as original such as :DSO Drag Racing Suspension Package and SOLD TO: Jack Grice (my name)Ford Sales, with my home address. Complete with its "T" code, 6 cyl VIN number.

I guess it wasn't enough because it fools nearly 100% of the folks who look at it and marvel at its rarity.

I spent a lot of time trying to get a correct looking font. What did you use?

Oh, sorry - the way you spelled it as "disk" in you comment, I thought that was what you were talking about.

Strange that they don't mention the 302 as an engine option under the "Maverick, The Simple Machine" section of the window sticker

I've seen the early ones on eBay, does anybody make one for a 74? I'd love to do the same thing, listing the "optional" headers, aluminum intake, Holley 4 bbl, and "custom" interior package.

I was wondering the same thing, the original was printed on a dot matrix printer or something like that, my inkjet wouldnt look like that.....

Doesn't everyone have an old dot matrix printer in their basement?
