    Pics...

....are all that I have seen. It is on www.collectorcartraderonline.com.
It really depends on what you are looking for. It appears to be mostly
an original clean car-no restomod improvements or modifications.

Perhaps someone here has seen it up close. Dan Hines was watching
a black/silver Grabber that sold for $8Kish I think. It seemed clean.

I would negotiate as much as possible on it. Ask for more pics and
    good luck.

Duffy's is a reputable old car dealer, and has a long record of selling cars to satisfied customers. I have personally seen cars purchased from there by friends of mine. They do not sell anything but nice cars. Just my thoughts, but the price sounds like it could be talked down. I have seen pics of that car. Nice.

I am sorry, my opinion of car values is totally worthless in the real world. I pay for what I want. Cannot guide you here on price.

i guess i will have to ask for a lower price than 14995, i will for sure if he agrees to take it down to 12995, seems a fair price to me.

I posted about a '72 GT for sale a couple of weeks ago.
It was clean, straight, seemingly rust-free. Modified 302.
Converted to 4 spd. manual from 3 spd. manual.
Interior was stock/original. Paint was excellent although
not the original color and sans the stripes. It had nice
Magnum 500's and RWL tires. Under the hood needed detailing.

Asking price was $10K. I think it is now on www.collectorcartraderonline.com

Many people would appreciate the modified engine and 4 spd. swap
more than the original tame manners that these cars were built with.

I'd get good pics, and start offering about $8,500-citing the recent black Grabber sale. Problem is, you are negotiating with a dealer. Either they are trying to meet a profit margin, working on a percentage, and it could be a consignment sale. One of the members here recently bought GS Johnsons' old Maverick. That was a nicely built regular Mav, EFI 5.0, AOD tranny, Grabber hood-clean. GS originally sold it a couple of years ago for $10K I think. I don't know what it sold for this time, more I am sure.

    Good luck

The less amount of rust ... the more the price .... Also take into consideration that a car that old will more than likely need a paint job so you really need to see it in person the put a value on it ...

The Black Grabber was purchased by somebody who just joined this board after purchase. The owner wanted $12,500 originally ... ended selling for like $8,000 ... Nobody has seen the car in person except the purchaser. Turns out it needed some rust repair in the 1/4's and floor ... also car needed a total repaint. It looked like a $12,500 car in the pictures ... but apparantly not in person ...

Of course ... if that owner is not in a rush to sell it ... a low mileage Comet GT with White Bucket interior will eventually be worth $15K if they wait long enough ... ;)

i see and understand now, so play it smart and think of the black grabber, which i do remember it for 13.5 in the ohio muscle trader, iam thinking more around 11.5 if the undercarriage is in good shape, i will email and request underneath for sure, it really depends on if my brother-in law wants to buy my mav or another guy at work, so i have too chances to get the gt. if it goes than for sure i will buy the gt at 11.5 but would go up to 12 tops, only if i get some good pics. unless someone else gets it first.

For a car like that and for that type of money ... There is no way i would even negotiate without driving or flying out to see it in person. If you'll spend 12K for this car ... bring it with you. Make him an offer and tell him you have cash in hand right now... and if he says no ... say well I've have my flight home to catch .... perhaps he'll change his mind ... but you have to be willing to walk away ... The advantage is that car has been for sale a long time ....

Good luck. Its a nice car. If you can document some of the other comparable cars that have sold it may help your price.

Looks real nice in the pictures, and I love the white interior. Take your time and go have a good look at it, then make your offer on what you find. I would think a car like that, that looks as good in person as it does in the pic's is worth at least $8000.00
