Don't get me wrong - I DO hope they fit, but forgive me for being skeptical. There are many companies that have made the same claim (clearing all the items you mentioned).

I have yet to hear of 1-3/4" full length headers that fit - without modification to something (either the tubes themselves or relocation of something else).

The alternative is to used the Hooker 6208's combined with a 3/8" spacer plate between the head and headers. Even then, I had to grind on the motor supports and bell-housing for the tubes to clear.

Best of luck. I do hope they work. That would be GREAT as the price of the Hookers are pretty high - plus there is the cost of the spacer plates.

'Looking forward to hearing good news from you after you fit 'em up!

Hey, I just got off the phone with Crites & they will give us a 10% discount through our dealership if we purhase 6 sets, thats $296.10 a piece. I will also have pictures of the headers they use for the jig either later today or in the morning:yippee:
1 3/4 header individual tube with 3.5 collector 3/8 flange tig on the inside of flange, standard bolt pattern (must pinch alittle).
I might need some help from someone to post them.

COME ON GUYS JUST 6 !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

They did say the center rib on the shock tower need alittle attention thats all.

Well, I'd join you in a heartbeat if I hadn't already spent all my money on the Supercomps. :(

I think Rick's cautious attitude is warranted.
    I don't see how a set of 1.75" tubes could fit both a 302 and 351 in a Mav.
The 1.625" tubes on a 302 are very tight and don't swap to a 351.
Add the bigger pipes and all the variables needed to get the pipes out of the engine bay to the underside, and it is really optimistic.

Crites really bothers me because they have very little actual info on their site and several requests from myself for them to clairfy things, email me pics, and asking for customer references have met with attitude. I want to do business with them on a few parts, but they have just ignored my requests for info lately.
Granted, I have not called them and given them the oppurtunity to 'tell me what I want to hear'. I have just emailed them several times asking for some sort of pictorial proof and better explanations of the parts in question.
    It really bothers me...
If they want my business, they need to learn customer svc.
I haven't been negative with them, I even remarked that folks on this board have their products and talk them up.

I would buy anybody's 1 3/4 windsor headers AFTER I read a sucess story. I am sure there are more then 6 windsor maverick owners that would come to the table if the product is proven to work.

I can't believe that if we put some good buying power together, we can't get someone (if not Crites) to "design" a set for this application for around $300.00.

I plan on doing the shock tower mod so that won't discourage me. Others may want a straight up no tower mod header.

    Who else would be interested?

The tower mod has no effect on the header fitment.
It does allow easier access to the header bolts and plugs, but the tubes are too low in the bay for shaved towers to make more room for the header design itself.

I would be interested in 1.75" tubes for my 302 car, and later when I do a 351 in my 75 Mav I want big tubes on it. If you can call 1.75" "big tubes".
My Cleveland swap headers were 2" and Boss 302 swap headers are 2.125"...

However I won't do business with Crites until they get better customer svc.
I mean come on, they can't email me a pic of their Grabber hood. I can't believe they can't take a pic of the one they might sell me, or that they don't have any pics of the hood on a car...
    Same with the headers.

They emailed me right away and stated the following:

"...the only modification that needs to be done is the center rib on the shock tower..."

I'm going to call the guy I originally talked to at RCI. He is local so maybe I can bring my car up and test fit them. I may have to wait a while for him to make them though. I like his because he can make the flange with the wider bolt spacing to fit my aftermarket heads, which would probably eliminate the pinching down effect from using the stock bolt hole locations w/ 1.75" tubes. If none of these are an option, I got a quote for $1200 for really nice custom headers, but that's some big bucks.

I just talked to them again & they have sent me pictures! They are just for thier paterns but give you a general idea of what they look like they also said that they make them in the 2" or 3" bolt pattern which would eliminate the pinch. If no one else wants to try these I will in about a month, they said if there are no alterations done to the header they would take it back. The first header will be $325 but if we decide to get more they will give us a discount.

Can someone help me post pic's or can I send them to U to post???

Just by looking at those 3 pics, don't know for sure, but I think a stock equalizer bar is out of the question.
Also appears to me that a relocated oil filter might be needed.

Now, IN MY OPINION, don't know what you all think...
Those things look cheezy in quality.
Anyone could order up mandrel bends like that and stub them into each other then put a tack weld...
