I have 3 cylenders on the same head that are not firing. want to know what compression I should have so I can test the good one against the ones not firing.
1st things 1st...remove the "boss" from your description at the left before you get picked on 2nd, low compression should still fire, so it is likely a stuck valve, lifter, bad plug wire, or something along those lines. Does it smell very gassy when it is running, and burn your eyes? While it is running, can you pull the plug on those three cylinders...and it continues running without faltering? If you are sure you have spark on those cylinders, pop off a valve cover and see if the valves are moving on them. 3rd...where in Texas? Or have I already asked you this?
More important than what it should be, to some extent, compare them to each other. They should be within 10-15% of each other.
Round rock is nice. I used to live near there. When I can sell my house I'm going back. Texas Mini meet would be cool. Newmavman, If you're ever in San angelo (3.5 hours from you) Stop by Midas on Loop 306 (I work 6 days a week 55+ hours, so I'm always there) and I can show you how to fix some things on your Mav. I'm almost a Master Tech......That *&$%$%$ auto trans test....errr. Long distance, listen to Mavaholic. Altho you don't want low compression, even compression is more important.
