Ok, so we had the big show and shine in town here today. They do a great one here. They close off the whole downtown and fill it with classic and special interest cars. Tons of great cars, but do you think that I saw one Maverick out of the hundreds of cars I looked at today? There wasn't a single Maverick in the whole show!

I guess I better get my car done for next year. It'll probably be one of a kind!

I'm in the same situation here too. There is one decent 6 cylinder Maverick here but he does not show it. When I had mine out the first 2 years I had it it was one of a kind. Think what people will say when it rools out next spring Orange and Black (now brown). I was told late last year at one of the Pony Corral crusin sunday that I was not out there was a White/Black GT that came out but I have never seen it.

I haven't seen a Mav or Comet in any of the local shows here for several years either, so if I ever get mine to that point I guess I can be guaranteed it would be unique. The president of the SK Ford/Merc Club brought his Mav to a show 'n shine at the local Dairy Queen a few years back but I haven't seen it since.

There used to be a picture perfect green 4 door here every year in the annual local car show . Sadlly I think he sold it and now some guy is driving around as a daily driver .

I could be wrong though . I gotta admit it didnt get any attention at the car show .

I go to quite a few local shows here in northeastern PA and the only Maverick I ever see is mine. It seems a shame because I know that I don't have the only Maverick in the area and I would love to see more of them going to the shows. There is an up-side to it though. As more and more people see the car, more of them are starting to take an interest in them again. Iv'e had a few people tell me after seeing mine that they would like to get one to restore. Most of them had owned one in the past and would like to own one again. For me, that was the whole idea behind turning my Maverick into a show car. Even one Maverick can regenerate interest in them and then hopefully, more of them will begin to show up. They don't even have to be show cars, just nice daily drivers are great to see. Sometimes it's nice to be the only Maverick in a sea of Mustangs and Chevys, but it tends to be kind of lonely too. Mavericks are herd animals. They like company and we need more of them to make us happy.

Guess I should feel lucky, there's 4 or 5 fairly nice ones running around here, but it's rare when we ever go to the local shows at the same time.

Still, I guess it is nice to have an original car.
