Anyone see the trailer for the new Will Ferrell movie "Talladega Nights"? Clear shot of an orange Maverick when the young Ricky Bobby steals his Mama's station wagon. Go to the movies web page and click "view trailer". Get ready to pause at the 26 second mark.

Glad to see someone else caught it. I seen the trailer at the theater yesterday, it's a pretty good shot of a big bumper Maverick, I thought it was a yellow Maverick though  .

without Comet now just keeping in touch
I saw the trailer on Monday , it is definately orange, very nice looking one too, I always wonder where these cars come from.. that aren't a part of this community, ( or maybe it is) anyway, it always makes me wonder how many Maverick Comet Freaks there actually are, it's kind of easy to think in terms of our's being the only group out there, know what I mean.

I see from that web link I originally posted on March 24th - that they have added a bunch more trailers, so I'm not sure which one has the Maverick shot now. When you watch them, look for the scene were the young boy Ricky Bobby steals his moms station wagon while she goes in the store and takes a joyride on the freeway.

    Pros:
    - The cars. 'Nuf said.
    - The Chevelle (any Chevy haters can KMA, that thing was AWESOME!)
    - That engine at the end. I wanna study that pic some more :)
    - The fact that Ali G was the frenchman
    - OMG Mavs galore in that first few scenes!!! (were there any later in the movie?)
    - The faces of the broadcasters after they do the bio on the frenchman :D

    Cons:
    - It's definitely a Will Farrell movie (not that that's necessarily a bad thing but, uh, you get my point)

    WTFs:
    - that last bit right after Ricky wins the footrace with the frenchman  ...whoa. I really really shoulda seen that one coming.

As I was an AliG fan, the fact that he played the Frenchman (I'm blanking on his name) and I saw a preview for Borat Comes To America made my day.
