DOes anybody know if a 170 from a '69 Mustang will fit onto a '63 Comet?
I have an opportunity to get one, but not sure what will fit.

Yup, sure will as long as you have the 6 cyl Maverick frame and motor mounts.

Don't you mean 1963 Comet/Falcon mounts? The '63 bellhousing may not bolt up to the '69 block ...

Dave is right, the engine won't bolt up to your bell housing. I guess you would have to swap the engine and trans both. This forum is for '71-'77 Comets.

Has the bolt pattern changed on the 170 and 200 blocks? I bolted a 200 into a 62 Falcon without any trouble - I later changed the transmission to a C4 but it fit the Fordomatic 2 spd just fine.
Only the V8 bellhousing bolt pattern changed not the small six bolt pattern.

They are different. The starter is a lot higher in one of them although I cant remember which was which.
