Glad to hear you walked away from that one.

I was in an accident once with my Sprint and the rubber floor seal around the filler neck caught fire. I was talking to the cop when I saw smoke coming out of the trunk. I ran over to the car, opened the trunk and beat it out with my hands. Cop was trying to pull me away but I wouldnt budge until it was out. Got some good burns on my hands but it was worth it.

I rolled my 66 Comet 5 times. I was doing 80 at the time. I walked to the ambulance.

The worst thing I ever did to a Maverick was what I did to my first one. I bought the car from my parents at the age of 13. (Still wondering about their parental skills selling their own 13 year old a car). It was a 71 grabber. 200 6 with a 3 speed on the tree. I rolled it 3 times during an after school cruise that my parents did not know about. Sorry no pics to show but Spork101's 4 door is a pretty close rendition. That was 24 years ago and I still remember sound of the glass breaking infront of me. Hope you and your passenger are ok.

I took my '73 grabber(first car)muddin' in places that most trucks had to lock in the hubs.Call it brave or stupid, but it always made it back out..under it's own power!

Man!! That's bad! Amazing how bad these cars can be wrecked and the people walk away relatively unharmed.

Here is the worst my dad did. One afternoon back in the mid 80's, he was right on top of Spaghetti Junction going from I-285 West Bound to I-85 North Bound. A car in front of him rear ended someone and started a chain reaction. He hit the car in front of him and a truck rear ended him and so on...

The '72 Comet he was driving was totaled. The rear frame rails were buckled above the rear axel and the front drivers side frame rail was bent pretty good in front of the shock tower. Was a 6 cylinder automatic floor shift car. I still have the floor shifter out of it. :)
