stock 250

    Hey guys i have a stock 250 in my 76 maverick and im jsut feeling it isnt enought dose anyone have any good upgrades or should i jsut look into getting a 302 or 351w?

    Yeah lol with no older brother or dad all that really dosnt make much sence to me can somebody please put that in a little easier form to understand.

    as far as the 250 the bigest and easiest thing you can do is add a set of headers and get the adaptoy plate so you can run a bigger 2bbl carb. but for the money its cheaper to get the power out of a v8 than a six. getting 300hp out of a winsor is no problem but youd be a mircle worker to get your 250 to pull those numbers.

    dropping a 302 is easy and cheap like newtoford 300hp is easy with a 302 or 351w , but i dont recommend a 351w , its a pain , just put a good 302 in there , youll have plenty of fun :drive: good luck!

    Maybe now, but when that new head comes out, I think we are going to be seeing some VERY stout little 6's.

    no there's an aluminum head coming out thats an improvment even over the crossflow. its probably going to cost just as much as a 302 though lol

    Dose anyone know how much a descent 302 would cost and would i need a new trans to?

    If the 250 transmission is in good shape, it will work with a mild 302.

    Yes the trans is in fairly goos conition i was jsut coming home from school and a jetta pulled up next to me at a light unfortunetly i lost so now i really want to go to a 302, what other stuff would i need, new exaust?
