1971 Ford Maverick, runs great, needs a new manifold, 250ci, hate the drum brakes. The engine is all original from what we can tell. Right now it is a mint green color, but the original color is gold.
I was wondering if anyone can tell me if a dash can be pulled out of one maverick and but into another. We have a 1971 that is in good condition but the dash is dried out and busted, we got another maverick and I was wanting to put the new one in my car, I have only seen dash covers in AutoKrafters. Please give your advice. Thanks.

The dash caps are great and well worth the investment

The dash pad can be swapped from one car to another...many of us have done it, including myself. There are (if memory serves me correctly) 16 fasteners, and you must remove the headlight switch and heater controls to access the two on the far left side...

Yep, T.L. is exactly right. I pity you if it's your first time removeing the headlight switch. You gotta remove the gauge cluster and heater controls to get to it.

Dash Caps Are The Way To Go. Easy Installation, Readily Available And Cheaper. Caps Are Like 69.95 Plus Shipping And Good Dash Pads (if U Find One) Will Run Anywhere From $100-175

    I am with Mean-Mav,
Dash Caps. They look good and are way easier to install.

 I hope it's okay if I use this thread for a related question as long as we're on the subject.........?
My dash pad is missing chunks out of it (it's pretty bad.) Can the dash cap still fit over it and hide everything as long as there is something left for the dash cap to attach to, or will I have to replace the entire dash pad?

The caps are made out hard plastic and as long as there is still something there for it to hold onto, you shouldn't have a problem.

    Rick's Review

Having recently come back from the MCCI car show where a few of these cars had the dash caps, I'd say that these things are among the best aftermarket parts you can get for these cars.

It isn't really noticeable (without very close inspection) that they are caps - and not the real thing.
