We need to have one big national round-up per year AND about 5 or 6 Regional round-ups per year. All it will take is to look at map and draw up regions. Then, the state directors in that region can communicate and plan a regional round-up in their region (assuming emphasis is placed on getting active directors as mentioned in my previous thread). You may go to a round-up in CA and you may go to one in Missouri. You also have the choice of going to a national round-up that needs to be centrally located.

If the national round-up is held within 150 miles of the same location every year, attendance will remain constant and the regional round-ups will grow.

Just another nickel's worth of my opinon.

I would think the regional thing would have to be a weekend event only. Most people would not get enough vacation time to attend 2 major events per year. Even if they did, I'm not sure it would be in the best interest of the "family" to make them both car events. Just some more of my opinions.

That can easily happen. That is why All-Ford Carlisle is a Regional Mini-Meet. All it takes is somebody to step up and do it. Until that happens......well......it won't happen.

It seems like someone brought up the date issue for the Roundup at the last Roundup meeting, and had a problem with June being 'reserved' for the Carlisle All Ford event. It seems like that would be a good month for an alternative club meet-Regional or Mini-Meet....or other.....for those not able to drive
    the distance to Carlisle.

I think the time of year would dictate when regions have their regional meets. The southwest and So. Cal could have theirs in the late fall or late winter. The NE and upper midwest would want theirs in the summer. The SE could be a fall meet. The NW could be anytime as long you bring an umbrella. The Canadian provinces could go to ones held in the northern states or divide themselves into a couple-three regions.

I envisioned the regionals being on Weekends, hopefully drives that can be done in less than a day.

We just have to find a way to motivate the members. People will find a way to do something they want to do. We all bought Mavericks didn't we? That required time, effort, and resources that could probably have put to a more pragmatic use. We do what we want to do.

Yeah. There's a pretty bad precedent set there. The first one from here was a total _____________ (fill in your own adjective).
