That is a very nice car. It looks and reads like it is new. It's a shame that someone would have all that work done just to sell it.

Yea, I would love to have that interior. I'm still having a hard time finding someone who has factory seat cover replacements. There's a million places that do Mustang interiors, but the Comet has been a challenge. I guess short of just getting it all redone at an upholstery place I'm pretty much out of luck. I was kind of hoping I could buy a kit and do the rest myself. I've pondered the ol front seat switch but then my back seat still looks shabby. I guess we'll get there eventually after I shell out a few bucks.

Probably as nice as a car as you will ever find. Wonder what it will bring?

Wow, pretty close to me. Too bad I don't need another Mav, and not to mention I don't have the bucks.

    Old Maverick parking secret:

Park one Maverick with driver's side wheels on the grass. Park the other Maverick with the passenger side wheels on the grass. Wha-la! Your driveway is wide enough for two [or more] Mavericks! :D You don't even need a building permit!

    Craig and Dennis?

    Straighten me out here.
I know we have talked about
when the interior door latch and armrest
    changed on these cars before.

I thought we were pretty sure that it was
the 73's that had this type of door handle?

Craig, is it you that discovered that some
doors can carry the older or newer latch
    and armrest?

It might be in fact a late 72, check its vin # to be sure when it was built.

I have seen mid 72's with the lower door handle. All doors after that should have cut outs for both. That way they only needed 1 door to cover all models for the collision repair industry.

I know in late 1972 they came out with the Luxury Decor Option (LDO) for the 1972 Mavericks/Comets. This was the only year that had both the turn signals under the front bumper, and driving lights in the grill....just like a Grabber!!

It most have been an LDO thing to have the later year arm rests in it (the 1973-1977 style). The car also has the package tray.

In 1973, the LDO package was the same, except for the turn signals were now in the grill like other 1973 Mavs/Comets. Some of the early 1973 LDO's also still had the package tray, but eventually got the glove box.
