Got my carpet in from AutoCustomCarpets and impatiently put it in, took a little massaging sinces it wasnt very limber. Well, its been awhile but I cant remember if the main seat belt retractor goes over or under the carpet?? And thinking about when I put my interior back in and the rear seats do they go in before or after the interior quater panels?? Thanks guys, its good to see the mav slowly coming back together.

ps if you've got any pics of this area that would help me out, since I'm a very visual learner

Well, I am pretty sure that the retractors go over the carpet and the rear interior panels go in before the rear seat. Hope this helps.

I have a 76 mav that I put carpet in last winter. If you can get the seat belts unbolted from the floor I would put the carpet just under them and 1" or so or put the carpet under them all together. I could not get mine out. The torx head bolts seemed to be very stubern could only get two out of three per side off. As for the back seat I took every thing out of the back out. Put the carpet in keeping in mind that you only need 8" or so to go underneth the back seat and when I had the carpet down and trimed where I wanted it I put the back seat area back together. Hope this helps.. Just a note if you have a floor shifter take it out to lay the carpet then trim out the hole to put it back. I thought I could get away without taking it out and wasted about 2 hours fighting the silly thing.
